Carlos Soler, part of a commitment to young talent
Carlos Soler made his UEFA Champions League debut on September 19th, 2018, at the age of 21. On his first appearance in the competition, he was named the ‘Best XI’ of the Group Stage for the continental tournament. His two goals during the UEFA Champions League 2018/19, scored against Young Boys and the other against Manchester United, brought him international recognition and is undoubtedly one of the standout young players brought up into the first team as part of Meriton’s firm commitment to the VCF Academy. Again, in 2019/20 during the UEFA Champions League, Soler scored against Chelsea FC. Since then, Soler became the automatic first-choice player at Valencia CF, a cornerstone of the first team, reaching the milestone of 150 games for Valencia CF.
After joining the VCF Academy in 2004, aged 7 years old, Soler debuted in LaLiga against Real Sociedad on December 10th, 2016. Valencia CF’s belief in Carlos Soler, has allowed him to become a regular for the Spain national team at youth level, and he was a member of the Under-21s European Championship winning team in 2019. That honour came one month before he was a key contributor in the 2019 Copa del Rey final, in which Valencia CF beat FC Barcelona to win their first trophy in 11 years.
At 23, Soler is an extraordinary player who is committed to Valencia CF, and is admired by young talents at the VCF Academy. His contract extension through to June 30th, 2023, reinforces the Meriton policy of backing young players to compete at the highest level.
